Building Bridges Pack and Game - £30.00
This new Pack is aimed at PSHE tutors and others working in formal and informal educational settings. The game and materials make up a module of work targeting young men, which will help young men: engage more fully with issues around sexual health; reflect on their knowledge, attitudes, values, and behaviour towards sex and relationships; learn practical skills that will aid their communication in relationships and in accessing services.


The Violence Game - £28.50
This board game has emerged out of young men and violence programmes developed by YouthAction Northern Ireland. This work, has successfully engaged young men in reflective discussions about their experience of violence and strategies for dealing with violence. This game has been tested in over 20 sites and can be used in a broad range of informal and formal settings. The game aims to encourage young men to reflect on their values attitudes and behaviour about violence and conflict.


Man's World Game - £21.00
This is a must for anyone working with young men. Board game with dice & counters, up to 6 can play (but can also be played in teams). Ideal for raising a broad range of issued related to being male (sex, violence and puberty).

 


Male Image Photopack - £24.00
52 original 10" x 8" black & white photographs of men and boys that show men expressing a range of emotions and doing a number of activities. The PhotoPack will be of particular interest to those workers looking for a resource to start a variety of discussions.


The Relationship Game - £23.50
This board game and pack of curriculum materials aims to enable young men and women (aged 14 upwards), to develop awareness and skills in negotiating roles and responsibilities within a relationship. For use within PHSE, youth work and other informal settings as well as post 16 college curriculum.


Relationship and Intimacy Photopack - £21.50
These 44 black & white photographs reflect a broad range of relationships (including family, mates, violence, sex, cars, pets, food and drink). This pack can be used with young people aged 14+ in a range of different group work environments including schools, youth provision, criminal justice, health settings and personal development courses.


Fatherhood Pack and Game - £30.00
This revised and expanded version has 4 new exercises and includes teacher's guidelines. It is aimed at PSHE tutors and others delivering fatherhood related programmes in formal and informal educational settings.
The Pack aims to, provide opportunities for young men to reflect, discuss and develop their own views of fatherhood, help young men consider their own experience of being fathered, help young men assess and develop their skills as potential fathers. The pack contains: a board game and dice game and 26 curriculum based exercises for use in the classroom and other settings.


Male Refugee and Asylum Seeker Sexual Health Pack £28.00
The pack contains exercises which are visually based for use with young men where English language and literacy may be an issue. It will help improve levels of knowledge in these young males on sexual health issues.

Boys Work Posters - £15.50
A set of four A2 posters with the strap lines "It's good to be close to your mates", and "what's to prove by fighting", "use your head be your own man" and "we are young, black and responsible".


Boys, Literacy and their Fathers Posters - £11.00
A set of four A2 posters about literacy and fathers’ involvement. So for example one of the posters has text that reads: "When I read with my dad he closes his eyes it makes me angry I want him to listen" (aged 7). Research has shown that the more fathers are involved, the better their sons read. READ WITH YOUR SON.


Young Dads Posters £12.50
Young fathers are too often invisible and when they are seen they are often thought to be irresponsible, feckless and immature. While some may fit this description, many others do not. This set of four A2 full colour posters show young fathers engaging positively with their children. The text ‘it isn’t your age, it is what you do that counts’, aims to counter the view that being young will in itself stop you from being a good father.


Jonny Gets a Job Video - £20.00
A video resource for those who carry out sessions preparing young people for the workplace. This 10 minute video covers the basics of using the phone and going for an interview. The script was written and performed by young men and while this video can be used with all young people, it is particularly targeted at young men.


Boys and Young Mens Health Report - £3.50

Stage one is a detailed literature review of boys and young men's health. Includes conditions such as testicular Cancer, ADHD and mental health as well as underpinning issues such as risk taking and help seeking. The second part of this review includes descriptions of 41 examples of developing practice with boys and young men.

Young Gay Men Talking Book - £7.50 Edited by Simon Blake
This book has two parts. Part one offers the views and experiences of young men growing up gay, including sections on schools, sex and going out on the commercial gay scene. Part two then offers clear practical advice and ideas for action for schools, FE colleges and other settings. This second part is written by experienced practitioners. These settings include secondary and independent schools, connexions, further education, public care and sexual health services.

Underachieving Young Men Preparing for Work Book £19.95 By Trefor Lloyd
Funded by Joseph Rowntree Foundation, this two year project developed practical programmes to prepare underachieving young men for the workplace. This project report also included curriculum materials used in the 2 term programme. It is practical, successfully engaged young men (in year 10), and helped to re- focus them on what they could get out of school.


Soldier It! Book - £6.50

This is the report of a research project commissioned and published by the Men's Health Forum that looked at the mismatch between young men and agencies targeting them. The report also includes a series of recommendations for agencies who want to target young men around mental health issues and suicide prevention.

Boys Will Be......? £13.95

This was first published by Bedford Square Press in 1990 and was seen by many as an essential publication in terms of developing work with young men and, in particular, sex education. This new edition has been brought up to date and aims to address work with boys in the context of new ‘Sex Education Guidelines'.


Reading for the Future Book - £5.10

Young Fathers Booklet - 60p (P&P not included)
This booklet is aimed at new and expectant young fathers and provides some basic information to prepare them for fatherhood and also directs them to further information. It encourages inclusion of young fathers (especially in pre and post natal care) and highlights some of the many changes that fatherhood will bring to them and their family.
