Working with men’s training offers more than just generic information and theory. It’s the perfect opportunity to gain cutting edge, evidence based and person-centred expertise for your organisation.
WWM offers training for those developing and those managing work related to boys, men and fathers. Our training is also relevant to those involved in policy development and commissioning.
We offer a broad range of training courses.
We work with you to deliver demonstrable impact and provide more than just a tailored package that meets your needs. We can help you by providing:
Training in areas including: targeting and engaging boys/young men; masculinity; what works with fathers; developing sexual health strategy targeting young men; public health strategies; fathers’ involvement in Children’s Centres; boys’ underachievement; managing work and young men; self esteem; and meeting the educational needs of African Caribbean boys.
Resources in WWM's database of publications and research. All available as free downloads
We have standard one-day and two-day courses which can be adapted, and we can develop tailored programmes, depending on the needs and requirements of the agencies and professionals we work with.
Some comments from practitioners who have attended WWM Training:
“It was really helpful in giving a base-line and clarifying areas and it was good to have a day to reflect on focused work and strategy” – attendee on Developing A Teenage Pregnancy Strategy workshop
“A highly interesting day - I like the fact it was a small group and open to discussion. Excellent structure to the course and good relevance to the work place” – attendee on the Targeting & Engaging Boys and Young Men course
“I really enjoyed the event. It provided useful insight and discussion and the tutor had an excellent style.” – attendee on the Recent Research on Boys & Young Men seminar
If you are interested, you will need to know that our basic daily rate for one trainer is £525.00, plus any travel and accommodation costs. Days usually run from 10am to 4pm. The courses can be for up to 16 participants (per trainer). This means that for a day long course where you have your own venue, relatively near one of our trainers it will cost you about £30 per person (for a course of 16). This would be about a quarter of the cost of sending people on a standard course organised by WWM, so if you have a number of people to train, this is a more economical option for you.
